Frequently Asked Questions

Honest, jargon-free answers to the questions we hear most. Can't find yours? We're always happy to chat.

New Patients

How do I become a new patient?

Simply reach out through our contact form, give us a call, or book online, and we'll find a time that suits you. We'll send a short health-history form to complete beforehand so your first visit is relaxed and focused on you.

What should I bring to my first appointment?

Bring a list of any medications you take, your insurance details if you have them, and any recent X-rays or records from a previous dentist. Most importantly, bring your questions — we love answering them.

What happens at the first visit?

We start with a friendly conversation about your goals and any concerns, followed by a gentle exam, any needed digital X-rays, an oral cancer screening, and — if you're comfortable — a professional cleaning. You'll leave with a clear, pressure-free picture of your smile.

How long does a first visit take?

Usually about an hour. It's typically far more relaxed than people expect — more of a friendly checkup than anything to dread.

Do you welcome the whole family?

Absolutely. We care for every age, from a child's very first visit to lifelong smiles, all under one gentle roof.

Appointments & Emergencies

How do I book or reschedule an appointment?

You can book by phone, through our contact form, or online. Need to reschedule? Just let us know at least 24 hours ahead and we'll happily find you a new time.

What are your opening hours?

We're open Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with select Saturday appointments available. Reach out and we'll match you with a time that works.

How often should I come in for a checkup?

For most people, every six months keeps things healthy and catches small issues early. We'll tailor the timing to your individual needs.

What should I do in a dental emergency?

Call us as soon as you can — we keep room for urgent care and will get you seen quickly. For a knocked-out tooth, keep it moist (in milk or saliva) and come in right away. If you have severe swelling or trouble breathing, seek emergency medical care first.

Do you offer virtual consultations?

Yes, for certain concerns a quick virtual consult can help us guide you before an in-person visit. Ask us when you get in touch.

Treatments & Services

What services do you offer?

Everything from checkups, cleanings, and fillings to cosmetic dentistry, whitening, implants, orthodontics, root canals, crowns and bridges, and pediatric care. You can explore each on our Services pages.

Is teeth whitening safe?

Professional whitening is safe and effective when it's supervised. We assess your teeth first, protect your gums, and tailor the strength to keep you comfortable — which store-bought kits simply can't do.

Are root canals painful?

This is one of the biggest myths in dentistry. A root canal relieves the pain of an infected tooth rather than causing it. With modern anaesthetic and gentle techniques, most patients find it no worse than a filling.

Should I choose clear aligners or braces?

Both straighten beautifully — the right choice depends on your smile, your goals, and your habits. We'll assess your teeth and walk you through what each would mean for you at a consultation.

When should my child first see a dentist?

Around their first birthday, or when the first tooth appears. Early visits are short, gentle, and mostly about helping your child feel comfortable and confident.

Costs, Insurance & Payment

Do you accept dental insurance?

Yes, we work with most major insurance plans and are happy to help you understand and make the most of your coverage. Bring your details and we'll walk you through it.

How much will my treatment cost?

It depends on your specific needs, and we believe in no surprises. After your exam we'll give you a clear, written estimate and explain your options before anything begins.

Do you offer payment plans?

We do. For larger treatments we offer flexible payment options to help spread the cost — just ask and we'll find an approach that works for you.

What if I don't have insurance?

You're very welcome here. We'll always be transparent about costs and help you plan care in a way that fits your budget, prioritising what's most important first.

Comfort & Anxiety

I'm nervous about the dentist. Can you help?

You're exactly who we built this practice for. We offer unhurried appointments, clear explanations, gentle techniques, a pause-anytime hand signal, and sedation options — all without a hint of judgment.

Do you offer sedation?

Yes. Options range from a light sedative that wears off within minutes to oral medication that leaves you deeply relaxed but still responsive. We'll recommend what suits you and your treatment.

Can I bring someone with me?

Of course. Many patients find it reassuring to bring a trusted friend or family member, and you're welcome to bring headphones and a playlist too.

It's been years since my last visit. Will you judge me?

Never. Life happens, and we're simply glad you're here now. There's no lecture waiting — just a warm welcome and a gentle plan to get your smile back on track.

Still have a question?

We're happy to help. Reach out and a friendly member of our team will get back to you soon.
